The Hammond House Welcomes Fluor Contractors
The Hammond House has opened its doors to the contractors building the Oak Grove Power Plant in Robertson County. This is a huge project requiring literally thousands of workers with specialized knowledge of trades and construction methods, and Robertson County has had a hard time finding housing for them all. That's why we decided to depart from our traditional bed and breakfast approach to become a home away from home for some of these folks.
If you're a contractor scheduled to work on the Oak Grove plant, you should definitely check us out. This will not be like any place you have ever stayed before:
- Listed in the National Register - 1970
- Centerpiece of the National Register's Calvert Historic District
- Recorded Texas Historic Landmark - 1968
- Featured in HGTV's If Walls Could Talk "Jail House Mystery" (to be re-aired November 4, 2008 at 6:00 PM).

Special notice to our bed and breakfast clientele
We'll return to being a full time bed and breakfast once the construction winds down which should be in about two years. In the meantime, we are happy to provide you with a B&B experience whenever rooms are available. The best bet is to call late in the week.
