The Hammond House Welcomes Fluor Contractors

The Hammond House has opened its doors to the contractors building the Oak Grove Power Plant in Robertson County. This is a huge project requiring literally thousands of workers with specialized knowledge of trades and construction methods, and Robertson County has had a hard time finding housing for them all. That's why we decided to depart from our traditional bed and breakfast approach to become a home away from home for some of these folks.

If you're a contractor scheduled to work on the Oak Grove plant, you should definitely check us out. This will not be like any place you have ever stayed before:

Here is what the Hammond House has to offer Fluor contractors:

    • In the heart of Calvert's residential district (very quite)
    • 19 miles from the construction site
    • 34 miles from the metropolitan center of Bryan/College Station (Walmart, Home Depot, etc.)

Special notice to our bed and breakfast clientele

We'll return to being a full time bed and breakfast once the construction winds down which should be in about two years. In the meantime, we are happy to provide you with a B&B experience whenever rooms are available. The best bet is to call late in the week.
